The Talking Heads disbanded in 1991 leaving behind a mountain of classic material. In February of 2011 the Purple Bee Crew of musicians united to honor the legendary band by performing a night of classic music lifted from the Talking Heads huge catalog. The now closed Momo’s Nightclub was standing room only as Austin turned out en masse, filling the dance floor and singing along to the classics.
The Purple Bee Crew is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Talking Heads Hoot Night with a move to the more spacious Antone’s Nightclub. Members of Jabarvy, The Trim, Moving Matter, Emilie Clepper and Groovin Ground will offer their takes on everything from the early four-piece art-punk of songs like ‘Artists Only’ and ‘Love/Building on Fire’ to the big band arrangements of Stop Making Sense with stops for everything in between. There will be plenty of energy in the room, spectacular lights, booty shaking, and some excellent surprise guest artists.
Admission is $10 in advance at TicketFly, $12 at the door or $6 if you show your stamp from the previous Bob Schneider show. We hope that you will join us and help spread the word about this event.

Purple Bee is a sanctuary for creativity. A hippy-hillbilly-Polish music paradise.
For bands - It's a retreat from the normal club scene and a platform to make honest music for attentive ears. It's a place to cross-pollinate with other bands and songwriters. It's a place where they can remember the reason they started playing music.
Purple Bee is a professional recording studio and live video production soundstage - run completely by volunteers.
We call these volunteers The Purple Bee Crew - a loose collective of musicians, engineers, artists, and one-of-a-kind personalities - all combining talents to make something real - something bigger than the sum of its parts.
The amazing bands and artists that make the pilgrimage to Purple Bee are also volunteers- they are partners in this pursuit of creativity and passion. We will help them present the fruits of this pursuit. We will record, produce, edit and present their music online at purplebee.org for the rest of the world to discover.
